ABOUT

The "ERA OF DRONES" game is a unique and futuristic multiplayer drone combat game inspired by Star Wars. Instead of traditional warplanes or spacecraft, players control drones equipped with low-powered laser beams. The primary objective of the game is not to destroy opponents' drones but to score points by accurately targeting sensors on the opponent's drones. The game features various displays and mechanics that add depth and strategy to the gameplay:

1. Drone Equipment:
   - Each drone is equipped with one low-powered laser beam, six sensors, and three displays.
   - The sensors are positioned on the back, front, left side, right side, top, and bottom of the drone.
   - Currently, drones are restricted to vertical flight, so the top and bottom sensors remain inactive during gameplay.

2. Displays:
   - Lifeline Points Display: This display represents the player's ability to engage in combat and shoot opponents. When shot by an opponent, the player loses lifeline points based on the location of the shot.
   - Score Points Display: Keeps track of the player's accumulated points earned by successfully shooting opponent players.
   - Shoot Seconds Display: Monitors the remaining "Shoot Seconds," representing the time available for shooting opponents. Wise management of Shoot Seconds is crucial.

3. Lifeline Points:
   - Players lose lifeline points when shot:
     - Shot from Behind: -1 lifeline point
     - Shot from the Front: -2 lifeline points
     - Shot from the Side (Side Sensors): -5 lifeline points
     - Shot from the Top or Bottom: -10 lifeline points
   - If lifeline points reach zero or go negative, the player enters the "Winchester" state, where they cannot shoot but can still participate.

4. Shoot Seconds:
   - Players have a limited number of Shoot Seconds.
   - Running out of Shoot Seconds transitions a player into the Winchester state.
   - In the Winchester state, players can't shoot but can participate, and opponents can still score points by targeting them.

5. Sensor System:
   - Initially, all 6 sensors on a player's drone are active (green).
   - If an opponent successfully targets a sensor for 3 consecutive seconds, that sensor turns red and becomes inactive for 10 seconds.
   - After 10 seconds, the sensor becomes active and targetable again.

6. Home Screen Sensors:
   - Each team has 6 Home Screen Sensors, initially active (green) on their home screen.
   - Teams must protect these sensors from opponent players.
   - If an opponent aims at a sensor for 5 consecutive seconds, the team loses 5 points.
   - Once a sensor turns red due to being aimed at for 5 seconds, it becomes permanently inactive.
   - If all 6 sensors of a team are turned red, the team loses the game.

These mechanics create a dynamic and strategic gameplay experience where players must balance offense, defense, and resource management to score points, protect their sensors, and avoid being in the Winchester state. The game also leaves room for potential expansion with advancements in drone technology, such as the ability to utilize top and bottom sensors for vertical maneuvers.
